On 28 May 1985 the base at Ombalantu was attacked by PLAN insurgents at 00h45 with 22 x 82mm mortars, 6 x SADF wounded

Tuesday, 09 Jun 1987
The base at Ombalantu, Sector 10, was attacked by SWAPO PLAN at about 23H15 on Tuesday 9 June 1987 at 23H15.

Monday, 20 Mar 1989
On March 20, 1989, SADF 51 BN Ombalantu base was handed over to SWAPOL

Ombalantu

Ombalantu, (Also known as ‘Outapi’) was initially a 51 Bn Base, but in 1986 it was given to 101 Bn. In 1987 it was relocated to 52 Bn.
